Job Purpose The Vision Care (VC) Franchise Head is responsible for driving performance of the business and leading Country Franchise management team including creation and delivery of annual operating plan.

The focus in on maximizing sales and profits in the long term for Alcon products in own responsibility, working with the business functions and spending time in the field interfacing with key customers and stakeholders.

The role is responsible for developing talent and a strong culture within the country franchise. Furthermore, as Country Manager, the incumbent takes charge of local corporate matters and initiatives, representing the company across the two franchises to internal or external stakeholders.

  • Major Accountabilities Executes franchise strategy in the market; Anticipates change, builds an organization that is capable to lead the development of innovative commercial models Drives resource reallocation, growth initiatives and resolves issues at a country level Product portfolio and pipeline management Manages interactions directly with regulatory bodies to maximize portfolio Responsible for driving the P&L growth and delivering targeted profit contribution for the Business Unit Is a member of the Regional Franchise Team meetings and influences regional strategic decisions based on country needs Leads the country franchise matrix team ;
  • work collaboratively with the Medical affairs team, Market Access and other Franchise functions; partners with Enabling Functions for the delivery of functional support to the franchise Executes GTM model tailoring approach as needed in market Responsible for Country specific advisory board interactions with KOLs Builds trust-based relationships with customers, patients & stakeholders, supports Alcon market position & reputation.

    Represents Alcon with industry associations Lead Business Unit on all people management issues, including selection, retention, and development processes As Country Manager Chairs the Country Management Team and is responsible for coordinating cross-franchises and country issues : Ensures good corporate governance and country compliance with statutory requirements as well as Alcon’s guidelines and policies Oversees corporate initiatives e.

    g. Community Partnership Day, Code of Conduct roll-out Promotes sharing of best practices and explores synergies across the two franchises related to company projects and policies Oversees any relevant Health & Safety and Business Continuity matters Represents Alcon as a legal entity towards key stakeholders including government representatives, regulatory authorities, etc.

    What you will bring to the role Education : University Degree in relevant subject Master Degree preferred Experience Successful track record for delivering P&L through sizeable teams in a sustainable way Breadth of experience, incl.

    combination of sales & marketing leadership roles Experience in leading cross-functional teams and influencing in a matrix environment Proven experience in growing and developing individuals / teams A few stretches, versus incremental, assignments in career history Leadership Competences Maintains an enterprise mindset do what it is good for Alcon in a broader context than own franchise Collaborates and mobilizes other local functions around common goals without having direct responsibility Uses customer needs to prioritize execution and helps teams to execute by focusing on solutions Creates clarity and accountability Inspires and helps people see how their work connects to the bigger picture Empowers, supports and removes obstacles for teams to reach better outcomes Creates a safe space for risk-taking and change.
