As a Team Leader, you will be at the heart of your Lakeland store. You’ll support the Store Manager in making sure the store - and, crucially, the team thrive.

Taking a hands-on approach, you’ll spend the majority of your time on the sales floor delivering and leading customer service.

Whether you’re delivering training, leading a team meeting or simply sharing ideas during a shift, your passion and understanding will enable people to provide extraordinary service and make the most of every sales opportunity.

Of course, you’ll make a difference with commercial knowledge, too - from stock management and retail data analysis, to visual merchandising and sales.

We give our people the autonomy to influence their area of the business, and in conjunction with your Store Manager you’ll be responsible for ensuring your store success.

You’ll be building close working relationships with your team, store manager, and regional manager to ensure that your store and team are the best they can be.

Role Purpose

As a Retail Team Leader you will support the Store Manager in exceeding the expectations of our customers, making their store experience extraordinary whilst also maximising sales generation.

You will be passionate and knowledgeable about our products, and have a selling through service’ mind-set. You will ensure the productivity and profitability of the team through effective people skills and strong operational management.

You will embrace the Lakeland values and lead by example.

About you

Essential the must haves’

  • Experience of managing and leading people within a retail environment.
  • A selling through service mind-set’ (i.e. providing extraordinary service to customers and going the extra mile’ in order to maximise sales).
  • The ability to delegate.
  • Experience of making commercial decisions using key commercial data, underpinned by good numerical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to influence colleagues.
  • A sense of urgency with demonstrated ability to work independently and to make effective decisions in a timely manner.
  • The ability to allocate time effectively, handling multiple demands and competing priorities.
  • Desirable the nice to haves’

  • Existing knowledge of Lakeland and our products.
  • Experience of interviewing and recruiting colleagues.
